The Woolsafe Experience
The WoolSafe Experience is a special event in Mackay, North Queensland, that is jointly supported by Coach8 and Nation Training. The WoolSafe Experience will be a 4-day event filled with certified training, workshops, networking, guest speakers, and much more. The event will also provide an opportunity to spend an extra day exploring the beautiful Mackay region, which has been named the best destination to visit in Queensland and second-best in Australia by Wotif.com for 2020. Come along and enjoy this awesome one-off event – the WoolSafe Experience!
Days 1 and 2 – Friday and Saturday
Day 1 will be a WoolSafe Technician training course for experienced carpet cleaners who want to take their knowledge to the next level. You will be provided with a manual and meals in the classroom as part of the course. You will receive an open-book take-home assessment that is to be returned to your trainer for a full and personalised review with feedback. Candidates who successfully complete the training and assessment are invited to join the WoolSafe Approved Service Providers (WASP) Network. WASPs are listed on the WoolSafe search database and free WoolSafe app for customers to easily find someone to care for their beautiful wool carpets.
Day 2 will begin with a half-day practical stain removal workshop where you will see, and some will actually do stain removal on aged stains on wool carpet. In the afternoon you will hear from some guest speakers presenting on a variety of topics (to be advised), and enjoy the opportunity to meet some vendors who will be on site to answer your questions.
Cost: $790.00 (ex GST). This special price includes a buffet style dinner on Saturday night only. You will be asked to pay for your own drinks because we know some of you like to drink Remy!
Day 3 – Sunday
Day 3 provides the option of enjoying a day exploring the Mackay Whitsunday region, famous for its beautiful beaches and tropical islands scattered throughout the Great Barrier Reef. Tours, which are yet to be organised, could include a boat trip to spectacular Daydream Island, or a day trip to Airlie Beach for shopping and relaxation. Let us know what you love to do, and we will organise a memorable experience for you.
Cost: To be advised (not included in either course cost)
Days 4 and 5 – Monday and Tuesday
Days 4 and 5 will be the WoolSafe Carpet Investigations course. This is an advanced 2-day course for those who want to learn carpet investigating and reporting on a wide variety of carpet issues.
The skills that you gain in this course can be used to write reports for insurance companies, carpet retailers, manufacturers and carpet owners who have issues they want resolved by an independent consultant. Even other carpet cleaners may find themselves in trouble, and we can learn to give independent opinions on ways to help resolve issues. As carpet cleaners, we are in the unique position of seeing carpets throughout their lifespan as they age and soil, and we can identify issues that consumers or manufacturers may not fully understand.
You will be given a written assignment to complete including a sample report that you submit for appraisal and feedback. Successful candidates will be invited to join the exclusive WoolSafe Registered Inspector Network and be listed on the worldwide WoolSafe database.
Cost: $1,000 (ex GST) including meals in the classroom
