New Coach8 Training Facility in Brisbane
Take a peek at the Coach8 training centre and IICRC-approved ASD house in Brisbane, which opened in 2024. The ASD house is a purpose-built interactive training facility used for the Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD) course. Much of the practical training in our ASD course is conducted in the flooded ASD house to provide a relevant and realistic experience that students will understand and remember. This new interactive training facility will help you to gain authentic experience in activities such as setting up equipment, drying water-damaged contents and structures, monitoring the drying process, and more. What is the IICRC? What is WRT Certification?
If you’re new to the restoration industry, acronyms like IICRC and WRT might be unfamiliar to you. So what do they mean?
IICRC stands for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. The IICRC is a non-profit global organisation that helps to shape the standards, credentials and certifications that impact the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. The IICRC has more than 49,000 active Certified Technicians and more than 6,500 Certified Firms around the world.
WRT stands for Water Damage Restoration Technician. WRT certification is one of many certifications defined by the IICRC and offered through approved schools like Coach8. People who have achieved WRT certification are recognised as professionals in remediation work who understand water damage and techniques for drying structures. Completing a WRT course is a common foundation for people starting their IICRC certification journey.

What is an IICRC-Approved School?
The IICRC is the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. The mission of the IICRC is to establish and advance globally-recognised standards and certifications for the inspection, cleaning, restoration and installation industries. The IICRC, with industry-wide participation, certifies and develops certifications and standards for inspection, cleaning and restoration. The IICRC also serves as valuable consumer referral source for certified technicians and firms.
As a certifying and standards-setting body, the IICRC owns no schools and has no instructors on staff. Rather, to fulfill its education commitment, the IICRC approves schools and instructors that apply to and meet the criteria set forth by the board of directors.
